Leading slot machine developer International Game Technology has reported its best first-quarter performances in four years in a promising sign for slot machine developers.

According to Vegas Inc. the company told investors that the increase in overall income was thanks largely to their new online social slots and other games.

Online gaming revenue increased fifteen percent from the last quarter of the year and the companies’ online application Double Down Casino is the third-largest grossing application on Facebook.

CEO Patti Hart said that the move to online and social gaming has increased International Game Technologies’ reach and profits.

“We are making progress in many areas,” Hart said.

“In a challenging environment, our franchise continues to lead the market.

“We are building on a stable foundation that will only get better.”

International Game Technology made be looking at even greater profits in the next quarter as they look to get real money gambling involved in the Double Down application.

“Six months ago, we didn’t consider real money an option at all, but with International Game Technology that becomes an option, because they’re licensed and regulated in all the states in the United States,” Double Down CEO Greg Enell said.

“And because we have the strength of the relationship on Facebook, we can marry all of that together and, for example, offer real-money online slots in California on Facebook.”

The addition of real money gambling to Double Down will be terrific news for online slots players as it will give them even more options of how to play their favorite games.

More and more online slots, and other online casino games players, are using their phones and tablets to access online casinos so the fact that companies like International Game Technology realizes this is good for the industry.
