A study conducted by Oregon State University has found that slots are by far the most popular form of gambling at both brick and mortar and online casinos.
The study found that an estimated 80% of gamblers prefer to play slots with games with a small minimum bet proving the most popular variations.
The results reflect the growing popularity of slot machines that only require you to bet a penny per spin.
Steve Thompson, Senior Vice President of Operations for Boyd Gaming’s Nevada Region, says his company’s private market research has found that players really enjoy betting the minimum and they have responded by launching Penny Lane at The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast and Sam’s Town casinos in Las Vegas.
“Penny slot games have become enormously popular over the last several years,” Thompson said.
“With Penny Lane, we’ll offer locals a fun, exciting and unique place to play these popular games.”
Surprisingly, the study also found that the majority of online slots players were not aiming to score a big jackpot but instead preferred to win smaller prizes more frequently.
What is less of a surprise is that the study found that slots players enjoy games that have bonus features and free games that are easily and readily activated.
Slots that randomly activated bonus features proved to be extremely popular with slots players.
“I like how the bonus comes up randomly,” one slots player interviewed for the study said.
The best thing for slots players is that games with a small minimum bet as well as exciting free game and bonus features can be readily found at a number of online casinos.
Slots Jungle is home to over 100 different online slots that all have a bonus feature as well as the option to bet as little as you like.
